Bunting

Bunting
For the Fairytales series.
So, this is a somewhat faithful remake of an older work from 2007 titled Ribbons. I had begun to rework her as part of a commissioned project, but the client decided to ultimately go with something else. She has been entirely repainted, which is mostly visible in close up: the older image had a collaged tutu, whereas this one is digitally painted in the same style. I chose to alter the theme to bunting as a variation on ribbons, so nothing too metaphysically poignant going on there, just enjoy the cuteness, it is simply neccessary on occasion!
This image, and several new pieces ought to be arriving at the Art&Ghosts shop very soon.
And thank you to the readers who have recently sent me such lovely email messages. They mean such a lot to me! There doesn't tend to be quite as much dialogue passed around within the creative community these days, so it is always nice to hear that people are still enjoying the blog.

Tilly, Snow

A recent commissioned piece. The customer requested a winter-y, melancholy remake of an older work, Tilly.
So sorry about the placement of the watermark! It is either that or a mini version, and I do so love to see them clearly.
And now for the Hop print competition results: Lark St. Cloud (submitted via Dina - do contact me via email so that I can arrange things asap)!
Thank you so very much for taking part, as always. I absolutely loved all submissions xxx
More soon - apologies for yet another mad dash - I have been away from home over the weekend and have so much to catch up on.
Take care...
Hello August!

It is so good to be back! Although it hasn't exactly been a long time, it does actually feel so, for some reason. I am not quite through with the work/deadlines just yet, but hope to be able to return to my own little world by Monday at the very latest. I am planning to continue where I left off with House of Cards, this time working with a new character called Alix Baxter. I can see her so clearly and ache to begin.
Anyway, the dress is from H&M, a dotty, chiffon affair.
Mirlo's close-up, as always, is just perfect.
And on a work note: I have finally been able to update the shop. Apologies to those of you who were awaiting Ivory Towers, she appears to have been in the spotlight this past week and actually sold out. Well, she's back now, alongside many more. I shall be creating brand new sets of portrait samplers for the coming week, too, which will include many of the more recent images from the series, so do watch out for them!
Oh, and the lovely square format postcard pictured at the start of this post features my darling little Tilly, printed and distributed by LaLa Land, Australia. Postcard sets and posters of my work are available to purchase at LaLa Land, with two different collections already in the making.
More soon!
