Incognito

So my artwork turned up in some video footage featuring Hayley Williams on MTV. Crazy eh?

She didn't seem to know who had created it.

Thanks to the lovely person who shared this with me.

It's beyond me why she didn't even bother to find out !
Actually, I don't even know who the girl in this video is ... but I won't be bothering to find out. :)

I've no idea who she is either, but neat to see your prints in film form. So very odd she did not know who's work they are..I wonder where they were purchased from? I hope your having a beautiful week so far Miss Lou!! I love the new look and layout for your beautiful blog, by the way!! : ) So elegant!!

thanks folks! I'm still wondering what 'cribs' means.

Hi Louise :) Cool! "Cribs" is a slang term for house/home, back home in New Zealand also known as a "bach" which is more of a little holiday home, I think that "Crib" is the south Island New Zealand version of a bach ... hope that all makes sense!

Loving all your new work!

No idea who she is either but I wonder why she wouldn´t show her own bedroom?
How did she acquire your prints without knowing whose they are?
What was the deal about going into such a boring cellar?

So many questions! And they´ll remain unanswered!
I always thought cribs was the name of an animal´s sleeping place but then I´m often mistaken.

thanks for the info, Lily!
i too identified the word cribs with a manger, a cradle or some sort of feeding trough for cattle.

Most of the prints in the apartment were in circulation a couple of years ago only, at my etsy outlet. Many people bought large selections at the time, and i dare say it might be easy to forget the actual name many months later when asked. I don't know. During my experience at etsy i noticed that many people regarded purchases as an etsy brand rather than recalling individual artists.
One of the reasons that i finally moved away from the site was due to concerns about stolen copyright. Instances of mass theft of my work have dropped at least 70% since closing that particular shop - and of course, i use those large, ugly watermarks on certain images these days, too.

This doesn't suggest that i think the images were purchased from a counterfeit seller, though.
People very well may purchase affordable art online 'en masse' and simply forget who the artists were many months down the line.
I guess in this case we will never know.
