New work for the Singing Tree series.
Digital hand drawing and watercolour painting combined. It was nice to return to this project, which I shall be continuing to work into over the coming week, if time permits. There's a dark element to the above image: be careful what you wish for, or whom you wish it with, or something of that description. Yes, dark matter.
The air balloon took me nearly three days to draw in, as is often the way when working with minute details upon a 14x16 canvas (digital). It isn't so cool to send yourself insane over an air balloon, take my word for it.

Wonderful.
if she wished for it , it was an unconscious wish because i feel she is not fully awake.... or taken here against her will, chosen by some greater power. the balloon is a promise of more knowlegde, and this is what they are both seeking, or is it her force that is driving the entire image? i feel strongly that it is her world but not her path, because while her world is bedecked in flowers the path is paved in thorns...
this one. it floors me a little. marinkel is insightful as ever, but i also sense his uncertainty. in the face of this blue moonballoon, he's passing through a storm of his own, one that has, quite unexpectedly, left his wings stripped by thunder. the path might not be easy, but thanks to what they can't help but share they can feel their way through, find wisdom, and wishes can be born anew.
so beautiful...and remarkably similar to my sunday! i tried putting this ridiculously small antler in my hair (to be like a unicorn but ended up just looking like a wacko)...was searching the skyline for hot air balloons...and drew some leaf clusters that look a lot like your lovely flowers! and celebrated my 7th wedding anniversary. i love it when stars align.
